My Fashion Story!!

Ever since I was little, I knew fashion was for me! I would play dress up all the time and for fun I would go through my closet, piecing together potential outfits every weekend! Whenever my mom would take me shopping, I would be very specific in the clothes I wanted and liked. I was always the picky one compared to me and my sister. Throughout high school, I knew I wanted to have a career in fashion and for quite some time, my dream was to live in California and pursue a career there. For my 16th birthday, my parents took me on a trip there and I fell in love but I didn't know if it was a place I could live permanently. Living in New Jersey, I am so close to New York City but that's not the perfect fit for me either. It's a place I can definitely go to many times a year but to stay there permanently... not sure about that! My senior year of High School, I had no idea where I wanted to go to school because nothing really excited me. I went to a community college to save money because they had Fashion Merchandising, which wasn't exactly what I saw for myself but I gave it a try. After the first 2 months, I struggled because I wasn't enjoying it. It wasn't what I envisioned doing with my life. It made me lose motivation for my future fashion career: one more style and design oriented. I struggled to finish that semester and told my parents that I couldn't do it anymore, so I "dropped out" and no longer continued in the Spring. My parents were supportive but they said if I wasn't going to school, than I needed a full time job. I had a part time job already but I got a second one to make more money. Once COVID hit, my second part time job that I loved went down and closed for good. I knew deep down that the other part time job that I had was not for me and I could not be there for much longer. Working a 9-5 at a computer in an office was just not for me! I needed something with fashion and that would just let me feel happy and good with myself. I knew that school isn't for me, so I wanted to start my own thing where a piece of paper doesn't declare my worth and ability. Something that I can enjoy by just experimenting with it. I want to learn the different fashion styles around the world and grow with each discovery I make! Hope you can too :)
